Made exclusively for Kate Marker Home, Handcrafted and hand-finished out of solid curly maple, this leather strap wood cutting and serving board was made to fit perfectly into any home. Each board is carefully selected, cut, smoothed, and finished with mineral oil and beeswax before inlaying the raw brass logo and creating a mortise for the leather strap - an hours-long process that is done completely by hand. The beautiful swirls and patterns of the wood grain make this board the ideal serving surface for cheeses or hors d'oeuvres while the sturdy composition of the maple wood makes it ideal as a surface to cut bread or prepare dinner ingredients. Because no wood piece is the same, every board will have its own unique wood grain and patterns.

The back of the leather strap features a raw brass grommet set to allow your board to hang on a nail in your kitchen when not in use. Over time, the leather and brass logo inlay will develop a lovely patina along with the wood board surface, a reminder of all the wonderful meals prepared and enjoyed with family and friends.

Care:
Cleaning your board: Brush off crumbs and food scraps and lightly rub the surface with a soft soapy sponge. Remove soap with a damp towel and then immediately pat completely dry with a clean, dry towel. Do not soak your board or clean it in a dishwasher.

Applying mineral oil to board: Using a food-safe mineral oil (easily found at your local hardware store or on Amazon), coat your board with thin layer of oil, being careful not to drip onto the leather handle. Allow 30 minutes to soak. If the oil has disappeared after 30 minutes, then apply another coat of oil. Repeat this process until you see a small amount of oil remaining on the surface of the board following the 30-minute waiting period. Remove excess oil with a clean rag or paper towel and flip board and repeat on bottom side if desired.

Why We Love Studio Inko:
In a world full of large-scale companies with production lines that churn out millions of uniform, perfect items each minute by machines, it's becoming increasingly rare to find items that have been crafted by hand by someone who truly enjoys the process of creating. That is what led Rose, the founder of Studio Inko, to lean into her passion of drawing, woodworking, and other crafts.  She sources the wood from local lumber yard in Northern California and carefully cuts, finishes, and oils by hand in her at-home Mill Valley workshop.
